Assembly polls 2019 : Voter turnout at 56% at Maharashtra, 63% in Haryana

Polling for the 288 seats of Maharashtra and 90 assembly seats of Haryana, which started from 7 am today, closed at 6 pm. Maharashtra polling 56.10 percent on an average, while Haryana polling 62.98 percent. The result of Haryana-Maharashtra assembly elections will be announced on 24th October. It remains to be seen whether the BJP retains power in both the states or whether the Congress comes to power.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and RSS President Mohan Bhagwat voted in Nagpur. Bollywood celebrities have also voted at the polling booth in Mumbai. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis voted with the family, while Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar came to vote on a bicycle. There are reports of violent clashes at four booths in Mewat district of Haryana. Shiv Sena and NCP supporters clashed in Pimper Chinchwad, Maharashtra.
The city of Mumbai has a turnout of 6.60 percent, while the suburban area of ​​Mumbai has a turnout of 6.92 percent. Polling in the largest Bhandup (West) suburbs of Mumbai – 53.04 percent] was recorded. So the lowest turnout was in the Colaba region of South Mumbai – 39.83 percent polling.
Kolhapur recorded the highest turnout in the state of Maharashtra – 69.04 percent polling. Nagpur, the winter capital of the state, recorded 54.24 percent and Pune 52.80 percent.
The BJP has a government in Haryana, while the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance government in Maharashtra is in power. Suddenly the lights went off in Shivaji town of Poona, Maharashtra.
