Fire at Terminal 1 gate of Serum Institute of India, Pune

A fire broken out at Terminal 1 gate of the Serum Institute of India in Maharashtra’s Pune. About ten fire tenders are currently at the spot to doese the flames. The blaze was reported at a building near the Terminal 1 gate of the institute which is located in the Manjri area of the city.

Police and local administration officials have also reached the site and rescue and relief operations have been launched. The exact cause of the blaze is not known yet, but according to preliminary information, fire began on the second floor inside one of the buildings.

There were four people inside the building. We have rescued three so far although large smoke is hampering the work of bringing the fire under control: PMC chief fire officer on SII incident.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is in touch with Pune Municipal Commissioner & is taking complete on-ground updates. CM has directed state department to coordinate & ensure that situation is under control.
