Australia on Monday replaced D Arshi Short in the one-day squad led by Aaron Finch for the upcoming tour of India, replacing injured fast bowler Sean Abbot. Abbott was ruled out in the Big Bash League for four weeks due to a hamstring strain after which Short was included in the 14-man squad.
The Indian tour will begin with the first ODI in Mumbai on 14th January. The second ODI will be played in Rajkot on 17th January and the third ODI in Bengaluru on 19th January. Fast bowlers Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc and Ken Richardson are in the Australian team, so the selectors chose top-order batsman Short who can also bowl leg-spin instead of fast bowler Abbot.
