Maharashtra assembly elections dates have been announced. After the announcement, all the parties of Maharashtra have come into action. Senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar has said that his party would like to tie up with the Prakash Ambedkar-led Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) for the Maharashtra Assembly elections due next month. Pawar said, VBA contested the Lok Sabha election as an independent earlier this year. As a result, the Congress-NCP alliance and the VBA suffered losses. Addressing a gathering here on Sunday evening, he said, “We are (now) trying to bring like-minded people together.” We would also like to tie up with VBA.
The former state deputy chief minister said that out of the total eight assembly seats in Pune city, NCP will contest four and Congress-three. He said that discussions are on for the remaining one seat and there is a possibility that it may be given to another ally. Pawar said that many NCP workers will contest the assembly elections, but we can only give tickets to a limited number of candidates.
