Ahmedabad. The annual interschool extravaganza of Delhi Public School-Bopal, Srijan2019, was held on 3rd August 2019, which saw participation of more than 600 students from different schools of Ahmedabad SRIJAN 2019 was a unique fest that celebrates creativity and expression of the creative genius at its best, which was dedicated to the celebration of creativity and imagination. The various activities at SRIJAN 2019 followed the vision of ‘Lead, Care and Inspire’. On the basis of accumulated points the rolling trophy Shrijanshree was awarded to The New Tulip International School.
The event commenced on an auspicious note with the lighting of lamp and was succeeded by an enlightening and exuberant speech by Mr. Surender P. Sachdeva, Principal DPS-Bopal. In his inaugural address, the Principal commended the 600 participants from 32 schools for being the torchbearers of creativity which is vital to the progress of human life. He exhorted the students to celebrate creativity and focus on excelling in the events. Discerning minds of the millennials of India, are attuned to thinking in more than one language and expressing themselves in as many. The UN year of indigenous languages has prompted the interschool event of Srijan – the yearly fiesta, to unfold an array of events based on languages and art forms.
Sanskrit is a beautiful contextual language. It is called “Dev Bhasha- the language of the soul”.To show respect for our ancient language, “SANSKRIT VARTA” was one of the events of the day long festival.A debate competition was conducted for the students of class XI and XII. The zeal shown by students to put forward their views was commendable.The principle of true art is not to portray, but to evoke. Kalayatan was a compilation of various artistic events which brought out aesthetic qualities of students from different age groups.Poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen. Kavya Manchwas an event where students could showcase their poetry skills and power to rhyme.French is considered as the most beautiful language of the world. The students displayed their profound love for french language through a french song in the event “La Melodie”. While students in Gujarati Extempore competition displayed the love for their traditional language through “Vagdhara”.
