New Delhi: The Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) is likely to be introduced in Parliament next week but before the bill is placed in the house, the ruling alliance wants to manage every possible support to get this bill passed. Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan and party general secretary Bhupendra Yadav have been entrusted with the responsibility to interact with parties for the support to the Bill. Involvement of Hemanta Vishwa Sharma is no secret to this now.
Sources said that the BJP is confident of getting this bill passed in Parliament and the number required to get the bill passed will be with the NDA even if no political party abstains from Parliament. There is uncertainty over the votes of the Bahujan Samaj Party, Shiv Sena and Telengana Rashtra Samiti but the party is confident of getting this bill passed as Janata Dal (U) and some other parties which were opposing the bill have now decided to support the Bill.
Concerns of tribals from the north eastern region are also now addressed in the bill so the protesting organizations of the North East have now come on board. The Congress, RJD, AIMIM, Muslim League, SP and BSP are some of the parties who are still opposed to the Bill.
