The next target of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after Haryana, Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly elections is Delhi elections where the party is planning a big rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 22 at Ramlila Maidan to blow the poll bugle. Elections in Delhi might happen anytime in January 2020.
Sources said that the BJP wants to announce some more measures for Delhi to woo voters before election code of conduct are in place in the city especially about unauthorised colonies to blunt the plans of Aam Aadmi Party which has promised free electricity, free water and free transport for women. But both the Delhi government and the Centre are criticised for mishandling the pollution issue.
Delhi BJP leaders have been asked to make the rally a big success and they want to offer 10 lakh thanks giving letter to the PM for the decision of the government on unauthorised colonies. AAP said that the Congress is not in the race in Delhi Assembly election and it has direct fight with the BJP.
