Supreme Court has severely reprimanded the Khattar government of Haryana over allegations of boycott of Dalits. On Tuesday, the top court pulled down the state government on charges of boycott of Dalits for two years in Bhatla village of Hisar. The court directed the state to file an affidavit by 8th November to ascertain what steps the administration has taken in the related matter.
Justice NV Ramana, the head of the three-judge bench told the Haryana government’s lawyer, “Social boycott was happening … Your government did nothing … The boycott continues.” What is this happening? A bench of Justices R Subhash Reddy and BR Gavai also termed the issue as serious. The apex court also directed the police officers concerned in the case to be present with all the records in the next hearing to be held on 8th November.
