Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami, who is facing an arrest warrant in a domestic violence case, is currently relieved and his lawyer Salim Rahman has been successful in getting his arrest stayed. Salim said the move was against the legal process in any case and there was no way Shami could be asked to surrender. Shami has moved to the US after the West Indies tour ended and was now in contact with the BCCI as well as his American lawyer. Shami was accused of domestic violence by his wife Hasin Jahan.
The court ordered Shami to surrender within 15 days and apply for bail. A senior BCCI official told Media that Shami would return to India on 12th September. He is currently in touch with his lawyer Salim Rahman. Shami has left for the US after the West Indies tour ends and will return to India on 12th September. He is in touch with his lawyer in the court arrest warrant case and has spoken to the board members on the matter. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said on 2nd September that the Board would not take any action against Shami until he sees the charge sheet.
