98202 cr collected in August as GST collection

Centre’s Modi government has received another setback. The GST collection has again been below Rs 1 lakh crore in August. According to the data released by the Department of Revenue, a total of GST collection of Rs 98,202 crore has been done in August, in which more than 24 thousand crore rupees have been received from imports only. However, in July this year the amount was Rs 102083 crore. In June, this amount was Rs 99939 crore. Thus, there has been a decline in August compared to June and July.
The Finance Ministry said on Sunday that the GST collected in August was Rs. 17733 crore, the Central GST collection was Rs. 24,239 crore, the integrated GST collection was Rs. 48958 crore and the cess collection was Rs. 7273 crore. 24818 crores in integrated GST and Rs. 841 crores in cess is received from imports. By 31 August of July, 75 lakh 80 thousand GSTR-3B forms were filled.
The government has given Rs 23165 crore from the integrated GST to the central GST and Rs 16623 crore to the state GST. After regular allocation, the total GST revenue of the Central Government in June was Rs 40898 crore and the total amount of the states was Rs 40862 crore. 27955 crores has been released as compensation to the states for June and July 2019.
