Overzealous Congress leadership in their attempt to target the government of the day sometimes goes beyond their brief and resultantly hitting the self goal if Pakistan’s petition on Jammu and Kashmir in the UN referring former Congress president Rahul Gandhi talking about violence in Jammu and Kashmir has anything to go by.
Pakistan writes in its petition: “These, and other, acts of violence have even been acknowledged by mainstream politicians, such as the leader of the Congress party, Mr Rahul Gandhi who has noted “people dying” in Jammu and Kashmir in light of events going very wrong there.”
Pakistan has played minority card in its petition in the UN as Indian political parties have the habit of playing the same with allegedly minority rights getting subjugated and compromised under the new regime. However, there is no national minority as such as per constitution and on a petition of the BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay in the Delhi High Court a report is sought from the government.
