Delhi Lt Gov Anil Baijal administered the oath to Justice Patelat a brief ceremony held at the L-G House in New Delhi. Justice Dipak Misra took the oath of office as the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Justice Dhirubhai Naranbhai Patel.
Justice Patel began his stint as a judge of the High Court after he was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Gujarat High Court in 2004. Subsequently, he took oath as permanent Judge of in January, 2006.
A chess champion in his college days, Justice Patel began practicing as an advocate in July 1984 at the Gujarat High Court. He also served as a part-time lecturer in Sir L.A. Shah Law College, Ahmedabad for nine years, both at LL.B. and LL.M. level.
