Devotion and festivity intensify at Hare Krishna Mandir, Bhadaj with more devotees and pilgrims joining from different states as we enter 5th & Final Day of Patotsav festival, a festival commemorating the 3rd year of appearance of Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Madhav at Hare Krishna Mandir, Bhadaj. Seeing the beautifully decorated deity, singing and dancing in Hare Krishna Sankirtan and tasting delicious prasadam, people who came from all places of Gujarat were indeed transformed to a different world.
The Final Day of Patotsav Celebrations were marked with Churna Abhishek from 6.00pm onwards for Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Madhav on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya. This is the ceremonial bath during which Their Lordships are bathed in turmeric paste and other auspicious items. All the Utsava Deities at the temple (Sri Sri Radha Madhav, Sri Sri Laxmi Narasimha Dev & Sri Sri Nitai Gauranga) receive a Grand Abhisheka in the main temple hall. This Grand Abhishek is performed for all the presiding deities of the temple simultaneously together only once a year during Patotsav Festival.
The deities are bathed in wide range of auspicious items like panchgavya, medicinal herbs, to fruit juices and flowers. The special feature of the abhishek is bathing the Lord with 108 kalasha (pots) of water, collected from seven holy rivers. After the Abhishek a grand Maha Mangala Arati, an offering of traditional lamps was performed to mark the end of 5 Day long Festival accompanied with ecstatic Harinaam Sankirtan. Their Lordships were also offered 108 varieties of foodstuff made of sweets, namkeen etc during the festival.
The Five day Patotsav celebration marks the anniversary, and the auspicious appearance day of the Deities at Hare Krishna Mandir, Bhadaj. This temple was inaugurated on April 21st, 2015 on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya.
