No possibility of diplomatic relations with India : Qureshi

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi ruled out any possibility of diplomatic relations with India after the withdrawal of special status of Jammu and Kashmir. Qureshi said in a press conference here that Pakistan is not against meetings with India but this is not the appropriate time for this. Tensions between these two neighboring countries have increased after India withdrew special status of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5. Pakistan attempted to internationalize the Kashmir issue but India continued to say that the removal of the provisions of Article 370 was its “internal matter”.
Pakistan has not avoided resolving issues with India through dialogue and Prime Minister Imran Khan has had a positive attitude since day one. But they (India) have been running away from the talks… and they took action against UN resolutions on 5 August.
I do not think of any diplomatic relations in the near future (under such conditions). Even if some friends want a meeting, it would be futile. ”Qureshi also spoke about Prime Minister Khan’s visits to Iran and Saudi Arabia, saying his meetings with the leaders of the two countries have been positive. He claimed that Saudi and Iranian leaders supported Pakistan’s stand on Kashmir. He said that Pakistan’s relations with America have been much better now than previous governments. If President Donald Trump eagerly awaits any call, it will be from Prime Minister Imran Khan.
