In the UK Parliament, Queen Elizabeth II said in her speech that Britain has a fair, modern and global immigration system at the heart of the policies of the Boris Johnson-led government. The Queen’s speech set out the government’s agenda for the parliamentary year, including 26 bills and related to immigration, crime, health, environment as well as Brexit’s policies.
The Queen said during her speech that an immigration bill that would eliminate free traffic would lay the foundation of a fair, modern and global immigration system. Subsequently, Johnson as well as UK Home Minister Priti Patel confirmed that the points-based system would be implemented on the lines of Australia for visas and immigration after Brexit. Under this, migrants coming from the European Union and from countries like India will be treated equally.
