AMC has been honored with the ‘Best Civic Management of Tourist Destination’ by the Government of India’s Tourism Department in Delhi for its outstanding performance in tourist destinations. On behalf of the Corporation, Mayor Bijal Patel and Municipal Commissioner Vijay Nehra accepted the honor at the function of the Vice President of the country.
Municipal Corporation received the honor under the 2017-18 Awards on World Tourism Day. The program was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Government of India and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu. On one side, Ahmedabad is included as a heritage city and on the other side the award has been declared due to excellent civic management in the city. The award was accepted by Municipal Commissioner Vijay Canal and Mayor Bijal Patel attending a ceremony held in Delhi. He tweeted a greeting to the citizens for this achievement. In addition, the city’s letter travel agency has been given an award for organizing a heritage walk.
While many efforts are being made to develop Ahmedabad city as a tourist destination, more tourists are likely to come to Ahmedabad with such awards. The system makes proper arrangements for tourists to get all the facilities in the city.
