The bail application of the student arrested for demanding extortion from former Union Minister Swami Chinmayanand was filed in the court of the District Judge of Shahjahanpur on Thursday. According to the student advocate, the court has fixed 30th September for hearing the application. At the same time, Chinmayanand’s bail application is also to be heard on this day. The student was arrested on Wednesday. After this, his bail application was filed in the court, which was rejected.
On the other hand, Chinmayanand is now admitted to a hospital in Lucknow for treatment, although doctors have said that there is no need to have his heart angioplasty done. After the arrest, the woman has been kept in Shahjahanpur jail since Wednesday before hearing her anticipatory bail plea. Her regular bail plea was also dismissed as the court said that she was facing a serious crime.
The SIT has allegedly cited the statements of three friends as the mastermind of the extortion case. The SIT also claims that the woman has admitted to being involved in the video shot by Anoop. Extortion or extortion is seen as a serious crime in UP and Bihar.

The SIT claims that Chinmayanand was not booked for rape as the woman has not recorded a statement before the magistrate under Section 164 of the CrPC. The woman’s attempt to re-record her statement before the court failed. Chinmayanand’s lawyers said she only wanted to ‘improve’ in her earlier statement.
