Karnataka Congress leader D. K. Shivakumar has moved the Delhi High Court for bail in the money laundering case. Yesterday his bail plea was rejected by the trial court. On Thursday, several veteran Congress leaders rushed to jail to meet DK Shivakumar. The Congress leader is currently jailed under judicial custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Senior Congress leaders and Rajya Sabha MPs Ahmed Patel and Anand Sharma rushed to jail to meet DK Shivakumar on Thursday. According to sources, Patel and Sharma were also present during this meeting with Shivkumar, who is also a party MP and brother of Shivkumar.
During this meeting, senior Congress leaders took information about Shivakumar’s health and expressed solidarity towards him. Congress leader Anand Kumar met the media after meeting DK Shivakumar in jail, saying, “We know his health, we feel strongly that what is being done to him is unfair.” It is an issue of his personal freedom, his health and fundamental rights. We hope the court will do justice.
The ED arrested DK Shivakumar in a money laundering case. Earlier, a Delhi court gave a big blow to the Congress leader arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the money laundering case. The court had dismissed Shivakumar’s regular bail plea.
