Ayodhya case: CJI said- I won’t give single extra day for hearing, complete the debate till Oct 18

The decision in the Ram Janambhoomi and Babri Masjid property disputes is expected soon. Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi has ordered to complete the debate on this matter by 18th October. He has said that not a single day will be given for hearing. According to the CJE, if it does not happen then taking a decision within four weeks will not be less than a miracle. Let us know that CJI Ranjan Gogoi is retiring on 17th November. In such a situation, it is hoped that the decision will come soon in the matter.
Meanwhile, the hearing on the 32nd day started on the Ayodhya case today. Muslim parties have demanded an additional one-hour hearing this week.
The apex court took cognizance of the report of the arbitration committee headed by Justice Kalifulla. The committee held talks with different parties in Faizabad for about four months but it did not yield any meaningful results. Only after this, the court decided to hear the matter daily from 6th August. The apex court had sent the dispute for arbitration on 8th March for arbitration and was to complete its proceedings in eight weeks. The committee hoped that the dispute would be resolved, so the court extended its tenure to 15th August. The top court observed the report about the progress of the proceedings of the committee till 18th July and only after that decided to hold regular hearings.
The Supreme Court is currently hearing appeals filed against the order given in the September 2010 judgment of the Allahabad High Court to distribute 2.77 acres of disputed land in Ayodhya equally between the Sunni Waqf Board, Nirmohi Akhara and Ram Lala.
