T20I Tri-series: Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh by 25 runs

Mohammad Nabi’s stormy half-century helped Afghanistan consolidate their place at the top of the points table by defeating Bangladesh by 25 runs in the T20 International Tri-series. . Chasing Afghanistan’s target of 165, Bangladesh were bowled out for 139 in 19.5 overs in front of the sharp bowling of Mujeeb Ur Rahman (4 for 15). Host Bangladesh lost wickets at regular intervals and only Mahmudullah (44) and Sabbir Rahman (24) were able to bat. Apart from these two, no team batsman could even touch the 20-run mark. For Bangladesh, Mohammad Saifuddin took 4 wickets for 33 while captain Shakib Al Hasan took 2 wickets for 18 runs. Afghanistan had a poor start and lost 4 wickets for 40 runs, but Nabi handled the innings with a 79-run partnership for the fifth wicket with former captain Asghar Afghan (40).
Nabi battled stormily in the final three overs, helping the team add 42 runs. Mohammad Nabi scored 22 runs in the 18th over with the help of Soumya Sarkar’s balls with two sixes and 2 fours. During this, Mohammad Nabi also completed half-century in 41 balls. He also hit 2 sixes in the 19th over against Mohammad Saifuddin. With this victory, the Afghanistan team has consolidated their position at the top with 4 points from 2 wins in 2 matches. Bangladesh team is in second place with 2 points from 1 win and 1 defeat in 2 matches. Zimbabwe, the third team taking part in the tournament, have lost both their matches so far and the team is finishing last.
