Ashes 2019: England defeated Australia by 135 runs to Test series draw by 2–2

England beat Australia by 135 runs on the fourth day of the fifth and final Test of the Ashes series played at The Oval ground here, thanks to 4-4 wickets of Stuart Broad and Jack Leach. After this victory, the England team managed to draw a five-match Ashes series by 2–2. Despite the series draw, Australia continue to occupy the Ashes series. Australia won the Ashes series last time, Therefore, this Ashes will remain intact with Australia. The series draw to England vs Australia by 56–56 points for the World Test Championship. He scored the fourth of his career and the second century of this series. Even this century of Wade could not avert Australia’s defeat. Apart from Wade, Steven Smith was the second highest scorer with 23 runs. Australia, chasing a mammoth target of 399 runs from England, started playing at 167 for five after tea. After tea, Wade scored 60 and captain Tim Paine extended his innings by 10 runs. Australia got the sixth blow as Paine at the score of 200. Paine scored 21 runs off 34 balls with the help of 4 fours.
The visiting team then lost Pat Cummins (9) as the seventh wicket at a score of 244, Wade at the score of 260 as the eighth wicket. The Australia again lost their ninth as Nathan Lyon (1) and their 10th wicket as Josh Hazlewood (0) at a score of 263. Peter Siddle was unbeaten on 13 off 18 balls with the help of two fours. Apart from him, Marcus Harris (9), David Warner (11), Marnus Labuschagne scored (14) and Mitchell Marsh scored (14). Apart from Broad and Leach’s four wickets for England, skipper Joe Root contributed two wickets to dismiss Australia. England pacer Jofra Archer, who took six wickets in the first innings of the match, received the man of the match award. In addition, Steven Smith of Australia and Ben Stokes of England jointly received the Player of the Series award. In addition to scoring 441 runs in 10 innings of the series, Stokes also took (8) wickets, while Smith scored 774 runs in seven innings.
