Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader Narayan Rane will join BJP on 1st September.
Rane himself announced this. After leaving Congress, Rane was elected to the Rajya Sabha with the support of BJP. He later formed the Maharashtra Swabhiman Paksha Party which is currently part of the NDA.
Rane told reporters, “I will join BJP on 1st September in Solapur, where party’s national president Amit Shah will address a rally.”
According to BJP sources, NCP MLA Ranajagjitsinha Patil and Satara MP Udayanraje Bhosale will also join the party soon.
Tell the Congress a setback that with the Maharashtra Assembly elections coming closer, the NCP and Congress are constantly getting big setbacks. Earlier, party MLA Avdhut Tatkare also meet Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday amid speculation about leaving NCP. He said that he wanted to remain in mainstream politics. There are speculations that MLA Avdhut Tatkare, representing Shrivardhan seat in Raigad district of Maharashtra and his uncle and NCP MP Sunil Tatkare, may join Shiv Sena.
