Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik said on Friday night that the need to interrupt the Amarnath Yatra along with other issues is causing ‘unnecessary fear’. He has requested political leaders to appeal to their supporters to maintain peace and not to rely on exaggerated rumors.
Bashir Ahmed Khan, Divisional Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir said that no curfew has been imposed nor has any such decision taken, he said that schools will not be closed today. He said that in order to maintain peace in the state, the Home Department has issued advisory on the basis of intelligent intelligence.
According to a statement issued from the Raj Bhavan, the delegation raised concerns about the developments in the day, including the advisory issued by the government, causing panic in the Kashmir Valley. The government has asked Amarnath pilgrims and tourists to return as soon as possible.
