An oil theft racket was busted and three persons arrested from Haripur village of Dhrol taluka in Jamnagar district. Police also seized a tanker and arrested the owner of the hotel from where the racket was being operated.
The accused were identified as Mehboobkhan Parmar, the driver, Mohemmed Kazi, the cleaner, and Ganga Bharwad, the hotel owner.
โWe raided the hotel where the racket was being run on the basis of a tip-off. Parmar and Kazi used to bring the tankers carrying oil at Bharwadโs hotel, where they would pilfer the oil. During interrogation, the accused revealed name of co-accused Nitubha Jadeja, following which we have launched a manhunt for him,โ said an official from Rajkot RR cell.
The official added, โWe have seized the pilfered oil and tanker, all worth Rs 33.33 lakh.โ
