VISAMO KIDS FOUNDATION, a shelter home housing 100+ underprivileged kids from all across the state, recently organized a training program on Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse for its children. The program was conducted by Visamo Kids Foundation in association with Ms. Ashwini N.V (Founder and Director of Muktha Foundation). This training is a part of the nationwide BHAYMUKTHA campaign initiated since January 2019 and has covered 16 states so far.the campaign will get over by 27th March’19.
As part of the training program, more than 60 kids were covered in 2 training programs- one for 15 to 18 year old (24 boys and girls) and other for 11 to 14 year old (38 boys and girls). The session was made interactive and interesting by sharing of live examples and discussing real life situations. The participants were informed and sensitized about how a child may get groomed towards abuse; different forms of abuse; practical tips to remain safe and approaches to build a child friendly environment.
After the workshop, the kids shared their personal experiences and were counseled by the resource person.
