 CM’s fruitful meeting with delegation of Japan’s External Trade Organization (JETRO)

Gujarat Chief Minster Mr. Vijay Rupani today had a fruitful meeting with delegation of Japanese External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Ahmedabad and expressed a clear view of the opening of the new gate for the development of Gujarat with the two days visit of the Prime Minister of India and Japan. Due to continuous fruitful dialogue between the Prime Minister of both the countries during the visit of Gujarat, 15 new Japanese companies have shown willingness to invest in Gujarat, he added.

Mr. Rupani said that JETRO is working to bring Japanese companies to Gujarat. State Government is committed that companies brought by JETRO don’t having any problems for the industry in Gujarat. Gujarat and Japan are the lands which have similar elements in history, business, commerce and entrepreneurship. Japan has joined as a partner in Vibrant Summit since Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat and in the same way Japan has stood shoulder to shoulder as a true friend, he added.

Gujarat is the leader in industrialization. Gujarat contributes 8% in GDP of India, 18% Industrial sector and 20% in exports. At present, 80 Japanese companies are operating successfully in Gujarat and due to favorable policies of Gujarat industry, JETRO is will be helpful to bring more and more companies come to Gujarat.

Giving the details about Gujarat becoming hub for manufacturing, automobile, textile and pharmaceutical Mr. Rupani said that Gujarat is a policy driven state. India is heading forward in the sector of Make in India with the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and it is also the demand of time that japan uses its technology and knowledge to invest here.

In Gujarat, 20 lakh micro-small businesses are employed, through which 1 crore people are employed. Expressing his confidence he said that Japan and India have enough opportunities to meet the new emerging market, along with India – Japan’s friendship will be beneficial for Asia’s peace and development. Japanese people in the world have an impression of honest people. Today the Japanese delegation of 60 people is going to visit companies in Sanand and Mandal. Some representatives will also cisit at Mundra so that they can get information about opportunities available in the industries in Gujarat.

During the meeting GIDC Chairman Mr. M. K. Das, Vice Chairman and Managing Director Mrs. D. Thara and JETRO’s officials and members of the Japanese delegation were present.
