Roger Federer will achieve a new achievement by playing the 1500th match of his career on Monday when he will challenge for the 10th title in Basel.
The former world number one will begin his 38-year-old Federer career campaign to win the 103rd title against qualifier Peter Gojkovic of Germany. Twenty-two Grand Slam winner Federer has beaten the German player twice before.
Federer, who first landed in the Indoor tournament in Switzerland as Bal Boy, said, “I had to speed up the preparations because I had to start on Monday.”
He said, I have already practiced in Basel on Friday and Saturday. I hope that I will start well and the indoor session will be great for me. Federer has reached the finals of this tournament for the last 12 times.
