US President Donald Trump has released $ 50 million to protect ethnic and religious minorities facing atrocities in Syria and to pursue humanitarian aid. The White House press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, said the funding would fund human rights defenders in Syria, civic organizations and rehabilitation programs that directly support ethnic and religious minorities suffering from violence.
He said that this amount will also be used in activities like increasing responsibility, removing war-torn explosives, protecting the community, registering human rights violations, helping victims of gender-based violence and harassment. Grisham said, “We hope that regional and international partners will continue to contribute.” Ethnic and religious security and independence is the priority of this administration.
