British Airways has canceled more than 1500 flights due to the pilots’ strike. According to a media report, the pilots will be on strike on Monday and Tuesday over the wage dispute. This is considered to be the biggest strike in the airline’s 100-year history. About 2 lakh 80 thousand people will be affected by this strike. This will result in a loss of around £ 80 million (Rs 704 crore).
All flights to New York, Delhi, Hong Kong and Johannesburg have been affected. The company has asked the passengers not go to the airport, your flight has been canceled. The strike was announced by the British Airline Pilots Association (BALPA) on 23rd August following disputes over pay and allowance cuts. It said that on 9th and 10th September, the pilots would be on strike. BALPA called the airline’s behavior irresponsible. At the same time, Russia’s foreign ministry has also warned its citizens after the strike and the cancellation of flights.
