The auspicious appearance day of Lord Balarama, the elder brother of Lord Sri Krishna, was celebrated on Thursday 15th August 2019, the full-moon day of Shravana (August) at Hare Krishna Mandir, Bhadaj. Lord Balarama appeared as the son of Rohini and Vasudeva. He is also known as Baladeva and Sankarshana. He gives us the required spiritual strength to cross over the hurdles in our journey of self-realization. Devotees at Hare Krishna Mandir fasted till noon and prayed to Lord Balarama to bestow the spiritual strength needed to practice spiritual life.
This day also commemorated the fifth and final day of Jhulan Yatra Mahotsav at Hare Krishna Mandir. Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Madhav were adorned with a unique dress made up of white flowers marking the day Purnima when the moon is shining brightly. On this day the jhulan(swing) was decorated with special flowers exclusively brought from various parts of the India. After placing Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Madhav on the swing, a special arati was performed along with kirtans and bhajans. Thousands of people thronged for darshan and participated in the festival. Hare Krishna Mandir President Shri Jaganmohan Krishna Prabhu enlightened the audience with a talk on “Appearance of Lord Sri Balaram and importance of Jhulan Yatra Mahotsav.” Krishna Prasadam was distributed to all the visitors at the temple throughout the day. During this five day Jhulan Yatra Mahotsav, more than 20000 devotees visited the temple and received the blessings of Sri Sri Radha Madhav.
