Announcing a major decission, party general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran has told that on July 8 that the decision was taken after consulting party office-bearers from Vellore district that Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) has decided not to contest in the Vellore parliamentary election to be held next month and the originally announced candidate and former Agriculture Minister K. Pandurangan. The decision was taken based on their feedback that the registration process of the party with the Election Commission should be completed first.
