With efforts being made to Dalit-Muslim unity in the country and the alliance gaining ground in certain areas, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) too is trying hard to keep Dalits away from Muslims by also trying to empower them in many ways as its acknowledges that injustice happened to them. Many efforts are being taken in this regard to put across this narrative that shudra were not by birth and the present state of affairs of Dalits is distortion of medieval period that needs to be corrected.
Speaking on the book release function of senior journalist Surya Kant Bali, RSS sahsarkaryawah Krishna Gopal said that there was a need to acknowledge that the section which was not only very scholarly whose literary creations make Vedic literature rich and complete but they were also the best skilled community who have been relegated to untouchables with the passage of time.
Krishna Gopal said that there is a need to understand there were people belonging to several Varnas including Sudras within the family which later on got distorted into Verna by birth.
The RSS is not only working to politically empower them who even once ruled the country but also make them realize that they are as important as any other section in the society. Lots of activities are being undertaken by the organization including lots of literature getting published. The initiative that was started by another RSS stalwart Tattopant Thengri worked for them and now RSS leader Indresh Kumar is working to empower them. The success story of Dalit joining hands with Muslim has been that AIMIM has snatched Aurangabad seat from Shiv Sena.
