According to data compiled by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), Ahmedabad has received 51.49mm of rainfall from 2pm till 9pm. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Gujarat, the rainfall was triggered by a low-pressure area over Kutch, adjoining south Pakistan, and southwest Rajasthan.
“There was widespread rainfall across Gujarat on Tuesday,” said Jayanta Sarkar, the director of IMD, Gujarat. “Ahmedabad received heavy rainfall through the day. The same was the case for Gir-Somnath, Bhavnagar, Amreli, Diu and north Gujarat region.” Sarkar said there will be a substantial reduction in rainfall across the state from Wednesday when light to moderate rainfall is expected in Ahmedabad.
