Addressing the media, AAP Delhi in-charge Gopal Rai said that the party had reached out to 71,592 people through 1,120 meetings and 64,972 respondents had supported the scheme of Delhi government’s plan to allow free ride for women in metro trains and government-run buses.
“Between June 8 and 17, AAP MLAs, councillors, and women wing members met people across the city. In 10 days, 1,120 meetings were organised with people from a cross-section of society, including in slums, unauthorised colonies, housing societies, flats. Of the 71,592 people who were surveyed, 64,972 people said they supported the idea. A total of 90.8% of the people surveyed expressed their approval for the free travel for women in public transport proposed by the Delhi government,” Mr. Rai said.
