The district unit of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of BJP, announced to send one lakh postcards with “Jai Shri Ram” written on them to West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee in protest against Banerjee recently reprimanding BJP workers who chanted slogans of Ram near her convoy last week .
“BJYM members from four assembly segments of Jugsalai, Potka, Jamshedpur (East) and Jamshedpur (West) will submit the postcards at the district office by 10th June,” BYJM’s Jamshedpur president, Amarjeet Singh Raja, said. He added the postcards will be sent to the Bengal CM’s address in Kolkata.
The youth saffron leader said the purpose behind sending the postcards is to make Banerjee realise chanting “Jai Shri Ram” slogan is not a crime. “We condemn Banerjee’s aggressive opposition to the chanting of Jai Shri Ram slogans in public,” Raja said.
