Ahmedabad, 12th January, 2018: The Sports Club of Gujarat Ltd, one of the old established & elite clubs of Ahmedabad has organized the 5th Edition of Golf Open-2019 at the Glade One golf course. In a unique initiative, The Golf Open- 2019 which is being held on the 12th& 13th January, also saw 23 junior participants between the age group of 10 yrs to 18 yrs take part in Special Junior Golf Tournament, of which 18 children are below the age of 13 years. Alongside, 106 amateur golfers, which include 84 club members and invitees played the Sports Club Golf Open -2019. The Golf tournament is supported and sponsored by Yash Group of Companies, Radhe Developers, Emerald Cars, amongst many others.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Narendra K. Patel, President – The Sports Club of Gujarat, said, “Golf is now an Olympic sport and the sport is witnessing a lot of keen interest amongst golfers in India. We at Sports Club have been organizing the Golf Open for our club members and invitees over the last 5 years and we are the only city club to host a golf tournament of our own. Over the years, the stature of the tournament has increased greatly and in this 5th edition, we have leading amateur club golfers also taking part. The junior
tournament we have organized this year is our bid to promote young golfing talent in the city and state, and eventually promote them to compete at the Olympic level”.
The Sports Club – Golf Open 2019 will have participation from the Who’s Who of the city’s golfing scene, including Mr. Devang Nanavati, Mr. Shaleen Sharma, Mr. Savan Godiawala, Mr. Bharat Patel, Mr. Sudhir Patel, Mr. Rajiv Vasa and Mr. Ragesh Vasa, to name a few.
