CM handovers another 164 Letters of Intent under CNG Sahbhaagi Yojana

Chief Minister of the state Mr. Vijay Rupani had launched the CNG Sahbhaagi Yojana in a bid to tackle environment pollution and promote clean energy Gujarat in addition to providing ease in the availability of CNG stations for vehicle owners.

Taking a step ahead in this direction, the CM handed over another 164 Letters of Intent (LOI) virtually for establishing 164 CNG stations in the state. The CM also handed over 5 LOIs to the beneficiaries in person during this event.

 During the virtual event, the CM said, “The state government is quite clear in its aim to promote development and prevent pollution. The administration has made sufficient provisions of CNG and PNG filling stations across the state.”

He added, “542 CNG stations have been established in the state in the last 23 years. Out of this, 384 CNG stations have been established in the last 2 years alone. The government had targeted to establish 300 CNG stations under the CNG Sahbhaagi Yojana. Today, there are 384 CNG stations.”

India has 2300 CNG fillings stations out of which Gujarat has 690 of them, i.e 30% of the total stations in India. The Chief Minister targets increase this number to 900 in the days to come.

ACS of Energy and Petrochemicals Department Mrs.SunainaTomar provided details of the CNG Sahbhaagi Yojana in her speech.

ACS to CM Mr. M.K Das, M.D of GSPC Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, and senior officers of Sabarmati Gas Limited marked their presence in the event.
