President’s rule in Maharashtra was not the solution as people had given their mandate in the recently-held assembly polls says All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi. He described the fight for power between BJP and Shiv Sena as “just a game”. “People of Maharashtra need a government. BJP emerged as the single largest party followed by Shiv Sena,” Owaisi said, adding that President’s rule would not solve any issue at all in the state.
“It will not help the Centre as the BJP is in power there and it is claiming power in Maharashtra,” Owaisi said. He told media that BJP and Shiv Sena are “Ram and Shyam” as they are bound by the same Hindutva ideology, adding that his party will neither support BJP nor the Shiv Sena.
