The Enforcement Directorate (ED) will interrogate Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray in the Kohinoor building case on Thursday. For this, Raj Thackeray has reached the ED office with his son Amit and daughter Urvashi. Now ED officials are questioning him. Tight security arrangements have been made before the inquiry. Maharashtra Police is alert to MNS workers not creating any ruckus. In view of this, MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande has been taken into custody on Thursday morning. Kohinoor CTNL is a reality sector company. The Enforcement Directorate is involved in investigating the alleged irregularities of loans and investments of IL&FS worth more than Rs 850 crore in Kohinoor CTNL owned by Unmesh Joshi, son of former Lok Sabha Speaker Manohar Joshi. Kohinoor CTNL is a reality sector company which is building Kohinoor Square Tower in West Dadar.
Joshi’s company and its investments are already under the scanner as it is one of the major defaulters of IL&FS worth about Rs 135 crore. It was launched over a decade ago by Unmesh Joshi, Thackeray and his associate. He had plans to buy the controversial Kohinoor Mills number-3 for Rs 421 crore. IL&FS abruptly withdrew from the deal in 2008. Sold his shares for a mere 90 crores. This led to a big loss and later Thackeray also exited after selling his shares. Joshi’s Kohinoor group was founded by his father and former Chief Minister Manohar Joshi. It previously controlled the Kohinoor CTNL. On the other hand, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has also come in support of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray in the Kohinoor building case. Uddhav said that nothing will come out in the Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation.
