Dr. Sanjay Singh has resigned from Congress and member of Rajya Sabha, he is likely to join BJP. In this 2019 Lok Sabha election, Sanjay Singh had contested from Sultanpur parliamentary constituency but could not save his bail.
Dr. Sanjay Singh is a Rajya Sabha member from Assam and his tenure was left for one year. Despite this, he has announced to leave the Rajya Sabha and the Congress. Although Sanjay Singh started his political career with the Congress, but during the Ram Mandir movement, he joined the Congress and quit the BJP.
Sanjay Singh was elected elected from Amethi parliamentary seat in 1998 by Captain Satish Sharma of Congress. After this he was the Union Minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government. After Rahul Gandhi’s entry into Congress, he quit BJP and returned to Congress. In the 2009 Lok Sabha election, Sanjay Singh was elected MP from Sultapura constituency.
Sanjay got angry with the Congress before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, after which the party sent him from Rajya Sabha to Assam. Because of this, his second wife Amit Singh had contested from Sultanpur seat, but he could not win. However, Sanjay Singh’s first wife, Garima Singh is currently BJP MLA from Amethi.
