B S Yeddyurappa takes oath as Karnataka’s 25th chief minister

Karnataka BJP President BS Yeddyurappa take oath of office. Governor Vajubhai Vala administered him oath of office and secrecy. BS Yeddyurappa sworn in as Chief Minister of Karnataka for the fourth time. He reached the Kadu Malleshwara temple and worshiped. Significantly, Yeddyurappa met Governor Vajubhai Vala at around 10 in the morning and presented a claim to form the government. At 10 o’clock in the morning, he had met the Governor Vajubhai Vahe and claimed to form the government. During this time, along with senior BJP leaders, Congress suspended legislator Roshan Beg joined the swearing-in ceremony. However, an order of Yeddyurappa has created an uproar in the government department when taking oath as the Chief Minister. In fact, the Chief Secretary has written a letter to all the Deputy Secretaries and ordered to stop all the orders given by Kumaraswamy in July.
Earlier, Yeddyurappa had said after meeting the Governor, “I have met the governor right now. At 6:30 in the evening, I will take oath as chief minister. ‘ The Bharatiya Janata Party has touched the magical figure in the Floor Test held in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, which is essential for power in Karnataka. In the Floor Test, Congress-JDS coalition got 99 votes and BJP got 105 votes.
After taking oath, Yeddyurappa has to prove a majority in the assembly. At present, there are more MLAs in BJP’s favor. But speaker K.R. Ramesh still kept penny trapped. On Thursday, he has declared three Congress MLAs as disqualified under defection law. These three are no longer able to contest elections till the next assembly elections i.e. 2023 If the Speaker does not disqualify the remaining MLAs, then 110 or 111 members will be required to prove the majority. In this case, it would not be easy to prove the majority for BJP.
