We had earlier reported that ‘Jigarthanda’ is remade in Telugu as ‘Valmiki’. Harish Shankar will be directing this venture which stars Atharva who will be making his debut in Telugu in Siddharth’s role. Varun Tej will play Bobby Simha’s role and Pooja Hedge for Lakshmi Menon.
Now, the latest update is that the Hindi version will be produced by actor Ajay Devgn. The will star Sanjay Dutt in the role played by Bobby Simha and actor and director Farhan Akhtar was initially signed to play the role of Siddharth in the remake. Now, it is speculated that actor Karthik Aaryan might be signed to play the role and actress Tamannaah has been roped in to play the female lead.
‘Jigarthanda’ is Karthik Subbaraj second film which was a masterpiece and one of the most critically acclaimed films ever. The film went on and bagged two National Awards for best supporting actor for Bobby Simha and best editing for Vivek Harshan.
The film was made with the director’s tasteful touch in all aspects. It also genuinely introduced the Musical-Gangster genre for films.
