Six live rounds of .32 calibre bullets were seized from a passenger during the security check at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) airport in Ahmedabad. The man identified as Mohammed Jasmin, who was bound for Lucknow by IndiGo flight 6E-244, was handed over to the Airport police station.
In charge inspector of Airport police, K C Rathwa said that that the man, who works with revenue department in Delhi, was let off without registering any offence after he produced license for keeping weapon. But his cartridges were seized by the police and he will be summoned later regarding the issue.
No person, except personnel deployed with VVIP security, can carry any weapon with them inside airplane according to existing aviation norms to ensure security for passengers.
