The Hare Krishna temple in Bhadaj is not only a place of worship of the Supreme Lord but an active center from where multifarious benefits are being extended to the society in the fields of spirituality, religion, education, culture and  philanthropy.

Since its set up in April 2015, the temple has been celebrating all major Hindu festivals including Sri Krishna Janmashtami, Dusshera, Patotsav, Sri Rama Navami, Diwali – Govardhan Puja, Holi –  Gaura Poornima, Gita Jayanti etc. thus reviving and instilling interest in our festivals and traditions amongst all generations – new and old. The temple also carries out several activities aimed at holistic development of the society.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Jaganmohan Krishna Das, President, Hare Krishna Movement, Ahmedabad said, “Dussehra is a major Hindu Festival marking end of 9 days of fasting period of Navratri. The day is celebrated to commemorate the killing of Demon King Ravana by Lord Rama as well as killing of demon Mahishasur by Goddess Durga. So basically the day celebrates victory of good over evil. Through these celebrations we try to instill moral values within society and make people appreciate the rich culture and tradition to which we belong. It is our endeavor to create pleasant memories for our devotees, by organizing celebrations on grand scale, which they shall cherish all their lives and which will give them reasons to come back to the temple again and again and stay connected with God.”

He further added “As per the Vedic culture temples have a very significant and indispensable role to play in the society. Temples are not limited to just the worship of the Lord but are active epicenters of distribution of spiritual knowledge and spiritual food (prasadam). If all the temples take up these responsibilities then our society will be elevated back to its glorious material and spiritual prosperity.”

Hare Krishna Mandir is setting an example for all other temples as to how a temple can be an institution for service to God and at the same time, to the mankind.
