Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani on the second day of his stay at Banaskantha and Patan districts affected by heavy rains, today, visited and got the review about the situation of Ranadpur taluka.
In the review meeting about the relief works with officials Mr. Rupani said that against the fury of the flood we will do the best for Rehabilitation and getting back. He said that with team work the situation will be restored within a span of 10 days so that the people can get back to their routine and image of Gujarat’s administrative system will be brighter.
It is necessary to survey and to get the correct status of situation raised due to excess rainfall in Banaskantha and Patan, he directed to all officers to visit the respective talukas in their respective districts.
Mr. Rupani said that now entire focus is focus is on relief works as the rains have stopped. Will the alertness and efforts of the administration, precautionary steps, NDFR, Indian Army and Air Force we are able to save many lives. He thanked NDRF, Air Force, Army and Central Government for the timely help.
Mr. Rupani appealed to all the citizens of Gujarat, the organizations to contributing generously to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to restore the damages and for the infrastructural development works.
State Council Ministers will stay for five days in the flood affected talukas for relief and restoration work and on 2nd August he will also stay with the victims and spend his Birthday in the relief works. 39000 people were shifted to safer places and 11400 were rescued. 4.44 lakh food packets and 6.50 lakh water pouches have been distributed to affected people. 10 thousand ration kits, including wheat and salt are being distributed by the Civil Supplies Department. About 29 Community Kitchens have been started, he added.
Reviewing about the roads Mr. Rupani said that 87 roads were closed due to rain in Patan district Out of which 58 roads have been resumed. For this, the roads and the building department have employed 63 JCBs, 153 trucks, dumpers, tractors and 200 workers to start the roads. Similarly in 207 villages power supply has been rehabilitated out of 214 villages.922 strips of ST busses were cancelled due to heavy rains which reduced to just 298 trips.
Mr. Rupani said that 4 additional collector level officers have been deployed on special duty to speed up relief work in Patan. With the help of 19 tractors and 3 jcb’s about 700 metric tons of wastes have been disposed off immediately in Patan and Radhanpur municipality areas and sprayed 6500 kilograms of medicines. 2 J.C.B. and 6 tractors disposed 310 metric tons of garbage in Radhanpur. These municipalities have been allocated additional 15 lakh each for the cleaning campaign. Clogged water will be disposed by a continuous cleaning campaign in Patan and Radhanpur for next 4 days.
Mr. Rupani said that in the flood affected areas of Patan 123 medical teams have provided treatment to 14000 patients by 153 medical camps. Prevention action plan of water related diseases such as malaria was also instructed to the concerned officials. In the case of animal mortality, a clear instruction was given to the administrative system to provide assistance in 72 hours from the postmortem. He told the officials to conduct a long-term solution by studying the problem of frequent floods in the villages.

S. Aparna, senior secretaries and District officials were present.
