Coronavirus infection started from China has spread to many countries of the world. So far 425 people have died in China from this virus, while more than 20,000 cases have been confirmed. In view of the corona virus spreading across the world, the World Health Organization has already announced the International Health Emergency. The Indian government is taking out its citizens stranded in China by airlifting them.
But according to the information received, the corona virus has knocked in Gujarat. Following the symptoms of the virus among three suspected students in Sabarkantha and Mehsana district of north Gujarat, these students have been admitted to Astpal for treatment and students are being closely monitored.
Medical checkup of passengers returning from China to Gujarat is done in their district. The administration has swung into action after three cases were found suspicious in Mehsana and Sabarkantha districts. On 13th January, a medical student from Mehsana district, who returned from China, was screened and sent home, but after reaching home, he had cough and fever, after which he was taken to the Isolation Ward in Mehsana Civil Hospital. Report of the suspected student has been sent to Pune laboratory for investigation. While two students of Sabarkantha district were found suspicious in the local screening, after which both of them were immediately shifted to isolation ward. It may be noted that due to joint initiative of the Government of Gujarat and Government of India, the students who went to study in China were brought to Gujarat in the past, including 42 students from Banaskantha and 5 from Sabarkantha.
Giving information in this regard, District Health Officer of Mehsana, Dr. Soni said that something can be said only after the report comes. At present, the student is in isolation ward and she is being monitored. Teams of medical and paramedical are in contact with all the students of the district coming back to China.
