Current Olympic winner Spain badminton player Carolina Marin has won the title of China Open Badminton Tournament here on Sunday. Marin, who returned eight months later, defeated Tai Tzu-ying of Taiwan 14-21, 21-17, 21-18 in a hard-fought contest in the final.
This thrilling final between the two players lasted for an hour and five minutes in total. Marin withdrew from the World Championship due to injury. She did not have a good start to the finals, she trailed from the beginning in the first game. She trailed 8-11 at the break and lost the first game. In the second game, however, Marin returned and won the match to level the match. Marin also performed well in the deciding game.
