Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) has offered Congress 40 of the 288 assembly constituencies in the state in the upcoming assembly polls. It has given a 10-day ultimatum to the Congress to make its decision on an alliance.
Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant called the offer amusing, though he added that parties with secular ideologies should work together.
Annarao Patil of the VBA, which is led by Dalit leader Prakash Ambedkar, clarified to the media that there were no talks held between the VBA and Congress yet.
He said, “Congress has not shared any official proposal with VBA about tying up for the upcoming assembly polls. Both the parties have not started official talks in this regard.”
