Jammu Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik has gifted 25 community bunkers to people living in the Gurez sector of North Kashmir. It will be a relief for those forced to live under the shadow of Pakistani firing. According to Raj Bhavan spokesperson, the Governor has made this announcement in view of the long-standing demand of the local people. In the year 2018, the Central Government announced 14000 community and single bunkers for the people of LoC and International Borders of Jammu. Of these, 7,298 bunkers will be built in Poonch Rajori and 7,162 bunkers on IB in Jammu, Kathua and Samba districts. These bunkers will cost 415.73 crores. India shares a 3,323-km border with Pakistan. Of this, 221 km is international border while 740 km is LoC.
