The Supreme Court will hearing on Wednesday all petitions against abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. A bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi will hearing the petitions seeking removal of other restrictions including Internet and communication services in Kashmir.
National Conference MP Mohammad Akbar Lone, Retired Justice Hasnain Masoodi and Advocate ML Sharma have challenged the Central Government’s decision to abrogation Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir in the Supreme Court.
Apart from this, former IAS officer Shah Faesal and JNU alumni leader Shehla Rashid have also challenged the government’s decision to abolish the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and divide the state into two union territories. The court will also hearing the petition of CPI (M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury seeking the release of its party leader Mohammed Yousuf Tarigami.
